Quality Education Strategy in Kano:* *REASONS WHY ZAURA IS THICK?*

By Al-Amin Ciroma.

In every move of his philanthropic activities, the APC Chieftain in Kano State, Alhaji Abdulsalam Abdulkareem Zaura, popularly known as A. A. Zaura heralded good days for educators. He always takes the opportunity to restate his absolute commitment to quality and accessible education. This gesture is visibly displayed every time he stands in to express himself or talk to the media.

Recent research found a significant gap in so many modules in education, not only in his home state – Kano – but in the entire north and the nation as a whole, which arose during the pandemic and other significant factors. Evidently, the APC bigwigs’ foundation, the A. A. Zaura Foundation, is always on the forefront to act swiftly and work tirelessly to address the gap in the fields of education, connectivity, resources, social-emotional well-being, and general engagement.

Zaura launched a holistic framework that has an education-focused package that can ensure a stabilized format for best learning practices and professional know-how of hybrid learning in Kano State in order to prioritize educators to receive good training and renovation of dilapidated school structures, including the building of reforms to help in educating the average child in the state.

The foundation, which is believed to be the leading humanitarian body in the state is well-positioned to simultaneously ensure every step is taken to construct new learning centers and renovate others in all the 44 local government councils of the state. Gradually, as the project commences, the foundation has kick-started the move by renovating some schools, learning centers that are now in good shape with enough equipment, furniture, and learning accessories.

Zaura, who received many accolades in the humanitarian and philanthropic sectors proved that he had incentivized both health and education aspects of human life because he is well-positioned to make significant investments in the areas. He promised to uplift the standard of education and girl-child education in the state through his exalted foundation. ‎

As he nurtures his ambition to venture into the race of the gubernatorial ticket, Mr. Zaura and considering his rich manifesto, ensured that he will leave no stone unturned to restore back the lost glories of his dear state, and also ensure continuity from Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje’s policy on education – returning all out-of-school ‎children to school – in order to save their future.

This, according to Mr. Zaura, is to compliment the Kano State’s policy on education by providing free education to physically challenged persons and their children as well as training them on several skills for them to be profitably active.

People who know Alhaji Abdulsalam Zaura can tell you that he is always on top of his major priorities, which is the provision of quality and accessible education for all! ‎He always stresses that since the state government has declared free education at basic and senior secondary school levels as part of an effort to reduce the number of out-of-school children in the state, he vows to ensure he doubles the gesture if given the opportunity.

Guided by a clear moral compass to ensure education thrives in Kano State, Zaura is set to steer the project toward huge success and continuous praiseworthy activities.

APC ticket: Fayemi denies stepping down for Osinbajo, says ‘I’m favourably positioned’

A leading presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Governor of Ekiti state, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has debunked insinuations in some quarters that he may be asked to step down for a particular aspirant.

The governor said he is favourably positioned and have backing of the real stakeholders in the party ahead of the presidential primary election to clinch the APC ticket.

An online media had reported that governor Fayemi and other four governors held a meeting behind a closed door with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, suggesting that the former was been pressured to abandon his presidential ambition.

But in a statement released Friday in Abuja, signed by Head of Media and spokesman of Dr. Kayode Fayemi Presidential Campaign Organisation, Femi Ige, described such rumour as “absolute rubbish. No meeting took place between us and any aspirant about stepping down.

“We are undoubtedly among the leading aspirants for the position and one to watch in the race. Our candidate has deep trust and respect among political leaders in the party and also from colleague Governors who form a critical mass in the decision making process.”

The statement asked Fayemi’s supporters to remain calm, focus and not losing faith because of the lies fabricated by political detractors, saying no amount of late night demarketing will work against the Kayode Fayemi Presidential project
