Christians have been enjoined to imbibe the spirit of sacrifice and love as exemplified by Jesus Christ.
The Adamawa All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship candidate Senator Aisha Ahmed Dahiru Binani made the plea in a her Christmas and new year message noted that strength lies in the unity of people.
The statement reads in part: “On behalf of my family and the Binani/Ganama Campaign Organization, I felicitate with our Christian brothers and sisters on this very special day.
“I know Christmas as a special day of grace, love and joy. It is a day we all look forward to witnessing every blessed year.
“In our special prayers today, we should remember to pray for our dear Country. May the day usher in a peaceful and prosperous Nigeria. May the Lord give Nigeria and Adamawa a leadership that would have the interest of our people at heart. A leadership that would unite us and propel the Country to greatness”.

The Periscope Global Publishers has recognised 25 individuals and organisations for her 2020/2021 achievers award.
In a celebration Saturday, held at the Wetlands Park and Garden Yola, Adamawa state the lead publisher and editor-in-chief of the Periscope Global, Mr Adamu Muhammad Dodo revealed that it is an annual event that has previously threatened by the Covid 19 pandemic. The resumption, after the suspension, has made it possible to organise the event governing two years, tagging it as the Periscope post Covid 19 achievers award.

Eid-el-Kabir: Salihu Tanko Yakasai felicitates Muslim faithful
The Gubernatorial Candidate of the Peoples’ Redemption Party PRP in Kano state, Salihu Tanko Yakasai has felicitated with all the Muslim faithful on the celebration of Eid-el-Kabir.
In a message made available to Journalists, Tanko said the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations reminded Muslims, and Nigerians in general, of the need to sincerely love one another and pursue lasting peace and unity.
He encouraged them to continue to preach peace and unity.
Salihu Tanko Yakasai also expressed joy at the reception accorded to him by the Rano Emirate Council during the celebrations.
“I wish Kano Muslim faithful and indeed Nigerians for witnessing the 2022 Eid-el-Kabir. I urge them to always have in them the spirit of unity and peace and pray in a special way for the country which is passing through challenges.
“I also wish to categorically thank the Rano Emirate Council for hosting us and according to us with a very warm reception. We are most grateful.
Tanko called on all and sundry to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards to be able to vote for credible leaders in the forthcoming general elections.
A member of the House of Representatives for Dawakin Tofa/Tofa and Rimingado federal constituency, Honorable Tijjani Abdulkadir Jobe has called on Muslim Ummah to promote peace and unity.
Honorable Jobe in his Sallah message contained In a statement, said peace and unity are the bedrock of development of a society.
Jobe added that Nigeria as a country with diverse tribes and ethnics needs peace and unity to prosper.
“Peace and unity are critical factors needed to move the country to greater heights. No matter how good the leaders will be, without peace and unity they cannot achieve anything.
“A nation with multiple tribes and ethnics like Nigeria can never be developed without peace and unity among its people. We should therefore, utilize our diversity to develop our nation.
“Each tribe or ethnic in this country has something unique to contribute in developing this country. So, it is only when we put our heads together that we can harness our potentials and develop the country,” he said.
Hon. Jobe appealed to Muslim Ummah to adhere to the virtues of Islam and promote peace and unity in their dealings with followers of other religions.
He also called on Muslims to exercise their civic right by obtaining permanent voters cards, noting that acquiring the voters cards is necessary as without it no one can participate in the forthcoming general elections.
